A Spirituality that Transforms
by Ken Wilber Translation vs. Transformation
Discusses the difference between translation and transformation
and the role of religion in these processes. The author defines
transformation as the result of spiritual development that results in
the ability (and willingness) to reject and challenge worldviews
that are deemed legitimate or even “preferred.” Transformation
provides “authenticity” to the individual. Translation is defined as
a spiritual process by which the individual acquires a new way of
thinking or feeling about reality. The author identifies
transformation as the preferred process and asserts that few
attain true transformation.
