…to publish in a book tentatively entitled:
“What Is…?: A Collection of Psychospiritual Experiences and Practices in Counseling and Psychotherapy”
What if a client discloses that he or she has had a near-death experience, or has recently begun an adult ed course in Kabbalah, or meditates, or has just joined a group that does Sufi dancing, or attended a workshop in past life therapy? The proposed book is intended to serve as a resource providing overviews of spiritual/religious experiences and practices that a counselor might encounter in the course of, or that might serve as adjuncts to, the counseling process, and a guide to the best sources for further information on the topic. The book is not intended to be a training manual for the practice of specific techniques. However, where appropriate, monographs may include information about where training is available for a counselor to develop professional competence in the practice.
